One new window due to frame missing.
The old window was missing the operable panel of the window. Both the glass and frame were stolen prior to our customer purchasing the apartment. Because this window is a single pane glass unit, the only way to replace the frame is to put in a new dual pane retrofit window. This includes new glass and frame. Retrofits are designed to be energy efficient both with respect to the glass and frame material. Old single pane glass frames are made of metal and usually are silver or dark brown, both of which are not good colors or materials for energy efficiency properties. While the window does not match the old single pane, the new window is more energy-efficient, improves the look of the apartment and adds value to the property.
