Different Types of Mirrors

When we think about mirrors the thought rarely goes beyond a large rectangular mirror glass hanging on a wall. Home decor includes mirrors of various shapes and designs for any room.

You do not have to be an interior decorator to create an alluring room. Adding a mirror can be a subtle or vibrant touch.

1. Bathroom Mirror

Have you ever been in a bathroom that did not have a mirror? Even the restroom at a gas station has one. Bathroom mirrors can span the length of a counter in a full-size bath, or a smaller oval shape for a powder room.

Lighting placed above a mirror can make all the difference. Fluorescent or LED lights give the reflection in the mirror the best output.

2. Decorative Mirror

Decorative mirrors are used in interior design. They are often framed using different types of woods and metals. These mirrors can be custom made to fit any decor.

When considering decorative mirror types as the centerpiece of your room there are many variables to consider. The size of the room, the height of the ceilings and the rooms color scheme will all play a part.

Custom mirrors will also save you the annoyance of seeing your mirror in every other home you visit.

3. Floor Mirror

A floor mirror is most often found in the bedroom of someone who is serious about fashion. These floor-length mirrors allow a person to get a full view of themselves from head to toe. People also love them when it comes time for the perfect selfie.

The mirrors come with the ability to adjust it to different angles. You can also get them in amazing frames to match for decor. It is trendy to simply lean the mirror against the wall.

The best part, floor mirrors come in different heights and widths. They also make a perfect prop for the corner of your bedroom.

4. Mirrored Tabletops

Mirrored tabletops aren’t the best design feature for a family with small kids. In the right setting, it adds a touch of elegance to any room.

The mirror is cut to the shape of the table or other furniture top. No piece of furniture is too large or too small for this design. You can set lightweight items atop the glass to complete your design.

5. Wall Mirrors

In our last suggestion, we have wall mirrors. Wall mirrors can add depth and width to any room. The entire wall can be covered with mirrored glass. Or you can create a layout that encompasses mirrored columns.

In more contemporary homes wall mirrors can have beveled edges or come with designs etched into the glass.

For those lucky enough to have a home gym, give your space the feel of a real fitness center. Install mirrors that cover an entire wall from floor to ceiling. Mirrors can also be installed on the ceiling itself.
